Dinner Meet Up with Knit Chicago Tourist Group
Tuesday May 27, 2008, 6:30-8:30 p.m.
Sayat Nova restaurant, 157 Ohio Street, Chicago, IL
(between Michigan Avenue and St. Clair Street)
Come and be a knitting ambassador on Tuesday, May 27, 2008 at 6:30 - 8:30 p.m, when WCKG will be meeting and greeting a tour group of knitters at Sayat Nova restaurant (157 Ohio Street, between Michigan Avenue and St. Clair Street).
From May 23 - 28, 2008, Judy Fawcett is leading a knitting tour of Chicago. Knit Chicago is a tour group (of 10 people) organized by Judy Fawcett (who also organizes Lucy Neatby's knitting tours). Two years ago she took a group of knitters to New York City, where they toured the offices of Vogue Knitting and visited knit shops.
This year, the 5-day tour will include a class at Loopy Yarns, a tour/sale at Lorna's Laces, the Chicago Architecture boat tour, a walking tour of Millennium Park, a visit to a Blues Bar, and a theater event. She contacted WCKG and asked if a group of our knitters would be willing to meet with her tour group on the final night of their tour.
In response to her request, we have arranged to meet for an evening of dinner, knitting and conversation. This will be much like the Downtown Knitters and Stitchers meeting that takes place at Sayat Nova the 2nd Wednesday of each month. You are not required to have dinner if you come to the meet up. However, the tour group is planning to have dinner at the restaurant. We will each be paying for our food on separate bills.
Please come out and meet knitters from other cities and hear about their impressions of Chicago. We will impress them with Chicago's hospitality!
